When reading a blog, I often wonder why it’s been given a particular name. So, I decided to use my first post to explain how I came up with mine.

My name is Katrina, which is where the first part of my blog name comes from.

The second part, “Waves”, was inspired by the band Katrina and the Waves and their hit song “Walking on Sunshine”. I’ve always loved that song. About 23 years ago, a boss of mine also enjoyed the song and gave me the nickname “Wavey” (spelled my way).

When I was searching for a blog name, I wanted to incorporate my nickname and eventually came up with “Katrina’s Waves” after praying and reflecting on it. I liked that it was clear that I was the writer and that it would allow me to explore the different meanings of the word “wave”.

While I don’t have a specific topic for my blog, I plan to incorporate the theme of “wave” into each post.
