Vitamin D

Another vitamin D that I partake of is a Day off during the week when I have nothing planned and the kiddos are in school.

One of the people who left had a critical role that I had to absorb until we could find a replacement, so my already heavy workload increased. It would be easy for me to just work-work-work and not take breaks, but NO.

Someone from one of the online communities I’m in mentioned taking a day off for every 10 days that you work. I never thought of this and with all the time off I have each year, that is doable. Company holidays are considered days off so utilizing my time this way still allows me to take a week off at a time if I want. I also maximize my time by blending days off with company holidays.

Each year, when I calendar my time off, I throw in single days to do whatever I want to do even if that is nothing. I have found this to be very beneficial for my mental health and overall well-being, especially at the beginning of the year when we don’t have many company holidays.

Instead of working every single weekday from February to Memorial Day in May, when there is another company holiday, I take single days off.

Sometimes, it’s more than 10 days depending on my schedule, but I keep it as close to 10 days on and 1 day off as I can. It’s extremely lovely when the day falls on a Monday or Friday because who doesn’t love 3 day weekends?! 🙂

I have long been an advocate of taking your paid time off and not getting paid out for it at the end of the year.

The work is there. The work will be there.

If I don’t take care of me and something happens to me, the work will still be there, and they will get someone else to do it.

Vitamin D is essential for me to live well in more ways than one.

I intend to live well.
